Dr. Aleksandra Treglown

Dr. Treglown is a criminal justice scholar, educator, and expert in child sexual and physical abuse cases. She is a nationally trained child forensic interviewer and has conducted forensic interviews for multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States. She serves as an expert witness in court and has contributed to child abuse investigations at the local, state, and federal levels, including for the FBI.

Dr. Treglown has also worked on the other side of the justice system by supporting incarcerated individuals as part of a state prison reentry program focused on reducing recidivism. She is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Interventions (CBI) and facilitated both CBI and parenting classes with male offenders. Within one prison she founded a “Dad Library,” a collection of children’s books that incarcerated fathers could check out and read with their children during visits. Dr. Treglown taught participating fathers how to read to their children in a child-friendly and engaging way, as a way to foster parent-child bonds, an approach shown to reduce recidivism and support healthy family relationships.

Dr. Treglown holds two undergraduate degrees, a master’s degree, and a doctorate in Criminal Justice. Along with numerous professional certifications, she is also a certified medicolegal death investigator. As a passionate educator, she brings her field experience into the classroom in her position as a faculty member at a state university, where she teaches various Criminology and Criminal Justice classes.
